The Silver Room
TSR x Heartbreak | Take Me Higher T-Shirt
House music was born in Chicago in the early 1980s as an act of resistance, release, and rebirth. It gave people, especially Black, queer, and marginalized communities space to feel free. On the dance floor, "Take me higher" was both a promise and a plea.
DJs like Frankie Knuckles, spinning at the legendary Warehouse, experimented with drum machines, synthesizers, and extended mixes, creating hypnotic rhythms that made people move.
Heartbreak and The Silver Room are drawing upon this same spirit, and are teaming up to celebrate the rhythm that built Chicago. This collaboration connects the city’s house music roots with the marathon. Just like house music layers beats to build momentum, marathon training layers effort, resilience, and flow to create a powerful rhythm of its own.
As part of the marathon lead-up, we’re bringing runners and music lovers together to honor Chicago’s legacy.
