Oberlin Square Stud Earring - Brass

$ 53

Modeled after one of the most iconic quilting patterns, these cute studs are a modern and fresh take on retro patchwork. Hypoallergenic, nickel-free and great for sensitive ears. This earring is part of the Women's Work collection, inspired by traditional quilting. Inspired by the Oberlin Square, one of quilting's most recognizable designs, this traditional motif was named after Oberlin College, the first American college to admit black students in 1835 and the first to allow women to receive a Bachelor's degree in 1841. The first four women to be admitted to Oberlin were: Mary Kellogg, Mary Caroline Rudd, Mary Hosford and Elizabeth Prall, and in 1862, Oberlin graduated Mary Jane Patterson, the first African American woman to earn a college degree.
